Ive always had a problem with the traditional colors. In dim light the blue/green, red/orange, and white/yellow are impossible to tell the difference.
I'm looking for a site that sells unique and different stickers. Maybe pastel colors, or neon, or shaped stickers, or dice stickers?
Look at this cube:

You can't tell me those stickers don't turn you on a little. I actually think that cube makes a great point. Stickers with dots on them to distinguish colors in dim light, theres 6 sides to a cube just like dice, each side could have a number just like dice... but in 20 years of rubik sticker making i've seen very little change since the original color scheme.

oh. now see if you hadn't learned already i'm a bit of a complainer.
i think cubesmith is awful when it comes to fun, new or unique stickers.
the rubik's sticker page has "neon" stickers but no picture, why is that? i dont know, the rest of those stickers are all 20 year old color basic rubik cube colors. boring
so then i see the specialty stickers and say woo hoo!
but incredibly disappointed. the first two are calender stickers which when applied does not allow the cube to be solved, it turns your cube into a calander, not a puzzle, the next set of stickers is called "confusion", i want the OPPOSITE, i want clarification of colors not confusion! then the shephards cube and maze cube turn the rubik's cube into a completely different puzzle which I don't want either.

now that i think of it, i'm amazed that anyone even sells stickers for these cubes to begin with. the market must be so small. who needs stickers to a game that is rarely used and comes with incredibly durable stickers already? not many people.

so has anyone ever got the customizable sticker sheets from rubik.com to print your own graphics on the cube?

Woah woah woah woah woah. Woah. As far as I'm concerned, Chris is doing a pretty big service to the cube community by offering these. These are all made to imitate already-made puzzles (see here, here, here, and here).

Note that all of these sticker variations existed before cubesmith.com came into existance. All Chris is doing is making them available to those of us who can't expect to shell out piles of cash for the originals on ebay. Sure, putting a calendar set on a worn-out Rubik's cube doesn't make it a *true* calendar cube, but it's cool nonetheless.

Just my $0.02.

sorry dougreed (and chris) I didn't mean to attack anyone like that.
i meant more like this:

if i want to turn my cube into a calender then cubesmith ROCKS for that! and i thank them for being in the sticker business.

but if i want unique colors, better contrasting stickers, bold shapes on each face as well as colors to distinguish sides better, or i just want to snazz up my cube more, then there's nothing for me there. or anywhere...

i was even thinking this morning... why isnt there glow in the dark stickers! of course i'm the only one on the planet who cares, but hey it's a fun thought.

(on a side note, i'm also trying to find an automatic mixer for my cube so i don't have to mix it up every time i solve it. and it would be very cool if it could quiz me somehow on moves i don't have very solid yet, or help me work on a particular solve better.. i know such a thing doesnt exist, nor will it ever exist but what else is there to think about when you cube?)

you could always just put your own picture or stickers or whatever on your cube if youd like.

this is what I did with my first cube when I got bored with it. cut up cards, glued em on, and put clear nailpolish over them to prevent fading.

I know a guy that took all the stickers off and used white out to make a dice like scheme.

be creative. there are infinite things you can do besides sitting there complaining about how no one else is doing it for you.

nail polish!!! *high fives*

out of curiousity what kind of experience have you had with the polish?

tried any different brands?

(my primary 3x3x3 and my 4x4x4 are both nail-polished. very nice.)

I talked to a company that puts "stickers" on cars, buildings, etc (http://www.comef.nl/). These stickers are really indestructible, because they have to resist rain, heat and "car washing". I have even put cubies with these stickers in boiling water with soap to remove all sand/dust/grease that had accumulated.

First they only gave me 6 A4 stickerpages which I had to measure and cut myself. This resulted in very durable, but not perfecly looking stickers. Also the way I cut the stickers they came out as perfect squares which seemes OK at first, but later on you realize rounded corners would be much better.

They agreed to make Rubiks stickers for me (2x2x2, 3x3x3, 4x4x4 and 5x5x5) with rounded corners and after applying them this weekend I must say: Perfect result.

Other possibilities are https://secure.rubiks.com/lvl3/index_lvl3.c...kit&lvl4=stkcst and http://grrroux.free.fr/workshop/workshop.html

If you live in the Netherlands/Belgium, sure.

I will be at Jaaps cube meeting on september 3 and I will be at the European Championships. You can recognize me by looking for a Orange shirt that spells "Arnaud van Galen". There will be a lot of these orange shirts at the European Championships next month.

I will upload some pictures tonight, but checkout http://www.comef.nl or contact them yourself.

I don't have much time right now, so I just made a simple page: http://www.arnaudensandra.nl/pages/puzzles...ckers/index.htm.

You can see first generation (square) and second generation (rounded corners) stickers. You can see that the first generation still lokes almost perfect after 4 months of speedcubing, except for some broken of edges

I have just contacted them and they don't really want to start selling them "to the masses". One stroke (one color) is about 1.20 meters long and and contains about 60 stickers for a 3x3x3 in a line. There are currently 4 lines on a stroke, but maybe 5 lines is possibles. A stroke would be about 10 Euro. This means you could get stickers for about 30 3x3x3 cubes for 60 Euro. Ofcourse you could also do what I did and mix stickers for 2x2x2 -> 5x5x5 on a stroke. (45 2x2x2, 59 3x3x3, 66 4x4x4, 79 5x5x5)

I have to stress however that they don't want to start mass-producing this.

On the pyraminx, the stickers are thinner than tiles yet thicker than the normal rubik's stickers. The colors aren't painted on so it doesn't fade away with time. The stickers have a certain texture which allows a good grip of the puzzle while at the same time not distracting the cuber in his solve. The stickers doesn't peel at all. Wouldn't it be perfect if we had those kinds of stickers for the cube?

Where would be the best place to buy stickers. I know of cubesmith and thecubicle but which ones better. Crazybadcuber says he prefers thecubicle because say you don't like all the shades in half bright then you could just buy each color separately and find the speecific shade you like for each color. Let me know what you guys think so hopefully soon I can buy some awesome stickers (The shades I like are black/white [depending if the cube is black or white] fluorescent orange, fluorescent green, fluorescent yellow, fluorescent red, and bright or dark blue (I can't decide between those two shades of blue but i'm pretty sure bright blue would be the way to go if i got all of the other fluorescent colors)
