Hey everyone, a friend of mine recently has had the desire to learn how to solve and instead of finding a tutorial that would be fitting, I wanted to essentially make my own.
I know a long time ago I found a java app that essentially let you make a video of an algorithm, it let you gray out stickers and it let you rotate the cube, and that would be exactly what I would be looking for to make my own tutorial. If anyone knows what the app was, or could direct me to something similar it would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think cubetwister might be good, because it lets you make stickers disappear, make parts (the cubies) disappear, and lets you export a html with an unlimited number of scripts (or you could just "export as video" from each script).

I have added supercubes from Gabbasoft software to my cubetwister file. You can download the program itself here, and my .xml file here. Click "Download all" to download a zip file, which you unzip to get the .xml file. Once cubeTwister is installed, you do File -> Open and click the .xml file wherever you put it.

I have three different notations. For the "4x4 Notation", "5x5 Notation", etc., that's equivalent to WCA Notation except lowercase m means just the central slice on odd cubes, while capital M means all middle slices down. (Also, Rw on the 6x6x6, for example, means the same as on the 4x4x4: turn the right half of the cube. So my notation is a little different for larger cubes).

SiGN notation for the 2x2x2 and 3x3x3 are the same as common notation, so you should use SiGN and not superset for those cube sizes (in fact, you don't have to use superset at all for any cube sizes.)

V-cubes has used this software for their solutions pages (but they use superset notation, which I don't particularly like) (this is one of them).

For some reason I cannot export as a video right now from scripts.
