Looking for fast Square-1 method with few algs

I'm starting to get into Square-1 speedsolving, and right now I'm averaging around a minute.

I use a hodge-podge of algorithms from two similar methods, but it's basically the emile video tutorial method with a few more algs (a total of 7).

I'm looking for a fast(-er) method that could get me down to sub-45 with practice, but with not many algorithms like the Lars Vandenbergh method. I want to have my focus right now on memorizing PLL and OLL for the 3x3. Obviously I need to practice more, I know that, but I'm unsatisfied with how my current "method" is operating.
The research that I've done so far has taken me nowhere.
Is there such a method, or is the only avenue lots of algorithms?

You don't need to learn all the algs from Lars' site to get sub-45 average. I assume you're talking about how there's a bunch of edge permutation algs and you don't wanna focus on learning all of them.

Just learn a few of them (adj-adj, opp-opp, adj-opp, parity, maybe the U-perms) and you can easily get sub-45 with practice, I believe.

But just so I know, what's your "method" right now, exactly?

I suppose it's basically the same basic steps as Lars'. 1. get top and bottom colors separated (1 edge-swap alg) 2. permute corners (2 algs) 3. permute edges (2 algs)

And yes you are correct in assuming that the edge perms seem like a daunting challenge, especially considering I have a much harder time keeping numbers in my head as opposed to letters. One glance at that page and I determined I wasn't going attempt it. What algs, out of all of them in the entire method, would you say are most important?

Are you referring to the full Vandenbergh method with 7 EO cases, 8 CP cases and 99 EP cases? You don't need all of it to be really fast. You would have learned 1 EO, 1 CP and 2 EPs from Emile, stick with that method and just learn a few more algs.
I suggest you learn 2-3 more EO cases and all of the CP cases. They're really easy algs compared to most EPs and 1-looking EO and/or CP really helps drop your time. As for which EPs to learn, try the short/easy ones.
