[Member Intro] Long time no see!

[Milominx]

Hello everyone, I'm Milo! I used to frequent this place, mainly in 2020, though also briefly in 2023, but both times I fell out of posting, and eventually cubing. Cubing has always been a hobby that comes and goes for me, but I can never seem to stay away from it for more than year. And now it's that time of the year I just can't keep my hands off my old cubes. I cleaned and re-lubed my old YS3M (such an amazing cube), and my times are already faster than ever (11.67 ao100!). I've picked up a couple of new hobbies since my last time here, mainly writing and playing the drums. Anyone here interested in music? If so, I'd love to talk about it!

Maybe some of you remember me; I probably remember most of you, too! It really feels great to be back.

I only joined back in may this year, so i havent seen you here before, but its nice to see quite a few people recently coming back to cubing.

I love music, and have been trying to get into the guitar and drums (im not very good at either rn tho).

Do you have any music artists that you like ?
I love Good Kid !

I've heard some Good Kid stuff and I really liked it, but I haven't listened much yet. What songs/albums do you recommend? I like a lot of different bands and artists, but most are in the realm of rock (especially progressive rock) and jazz. Right now I really like the early Genesis records (before they went full 80s pop), Return to Forever, and Steely Dan.

And good luck getting into those instruments! I've tried the guitar myself a couple of times and damn, it's difficult. Btw, just let me know if you want any drumming tips!

Yoo I remember you were very active. Music is easily my main passion, I play guitar and love many genres. What do like to listen to in specific situations like driving to work or smth. What style of drumming do you like best. I don't play drums myself but I think their rly cool. There is this crazy aussie on yt who has many channels, the main one is called dank pods but his drumming one is called the drum thing. Feel free to dm me if you wanna add me on discord or smth cause that's where im most active and i'm always down to talk music or about gear

Awesome! What stuff do you play on guitar? The only situation I really listen to specific music in is when I'm reading or writing, then I usually put on some instrumental piano stuff. Except that I listen to whatever, whenever. Sometimes I listen to jazz in the gym, sometimes I listen to death metal while studying. In general I really like prog though, whether that's metal, rock or jazz. Classic 70s prog like Genesis, Rush, Pink Floyd and the likes is my favorite. I usually play rock, both the progressive stuff I mentioned and more simple stuff. Jazz drums are so awesome, but I suck at them. Right now I'm learning Red Barchetta by Rush, and Killing in the Name because I'm playing it with some peeps at a little event.

Cool! How long have you played for? I'd say I have pretty good dynamics, but the dynamics in jazz are next-level difficult. Also, what music do you like to listen to?
