Will removing the washers from the cube, damage the cube?
What's a mod that preserves the clickiness of the cube while prevents popping?
Does the v5 mod prevent the clicking?

for clicking, maybe try loosening the tensions slightly? for popping, learn to turn with a very light hand. its not meant to take much abuse. i think taking more plastic off the lingyun would cause it to pop more? make sure its well lubed. mine has a tendency to start popping when it is on E for lube.

I thought that most cubes had the clicky-ness because of their anti-pop design. Guess I was wrong?
For popping, they only two factors are really just your turning style and the cube (actually, I think it's the core). If you're too lazy to improve your turning, I recommend getting another cube.

For clicking, lube with lubix or jig-a-loo (gives the cube a creamier feel).

Washers are there to prevent the plastic at the bottom of the centre piece from eroding.

Does the cube4you core help? With the lingyun screws and springs

Aye it really does in my opinion. I have their cores in Guhongs and Lingyuns and do not seem to suffer the popping issues a lot of people report. Now it has to be said I have only been cubing 2 months so do not reach the TPS where popping maybe more of an issue. But I am not the most accurate turner. If I drill a PLL the only Dayan that pops on me is a Guhong with standard core. It may be I have been luckily but I realyy do think it helps.

In addition, yes, I use standard springs, screws and ample Lubix. I have tried using C4U springs, both right way and inverted as they are not uniform top and bottom, as well but that led to a popfest!
