I'm registering for a competition in 3 weeks, and I would like to learn Skewb to compete with it. I don't have one, but I can order one today and have two weeks to practice it. I know it's one of the easiest events, but I'm wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to register for the event today with only two weeks to practice it.

My question is, how fast do you think I could get in two weeks using this method:

If you have good finger tricks and a good skewb, sub 15.

You could use that method, but I would recommend learning Sarah's intermediate once you are comfortable with Sarah's Beginner (The method in the video). I am quite sure NobleCubes (the creator of that video) has a video on that so I would recommend learning that. Also learn how to do the polish fingertrick. It is another way to do sledges/hedges and is crucial for getting faster. This is the video:

After that if you do hundreds of solves (which might be difficult but Skewb is a fast event so it will only take an hour a day maybe) then you will be sub-6 and on good scrambles sub-5.

Happy Skewbing!

Sub-6? That's pretty crazy, for only two weeks of practice. I definitely can do at least an ao100 every day for those two weeks, but for now all I can do is practice my other events and stare out the window impatiently for my Skewb to arrive...
