Do you guys think doing U moves is worth it?
Yes

To elaborate, it helps lookahead tremendously, certain 2 move sequences (R U', for example) can be done with no regrip whatsoever, and it's really not too much harder than other moves.

If you're accidentally doing u instead of U, you might want to try holding the cube more against the side of the ball of your foot than against the side of your toe, so you're using a thicker part of the foot to block off the D and E slices while you use the other big toe to turn the U layer. Using a slightly smaller cube might help too.

Here's a picture for example:

The black arrow is pointing at the ball of the right foot, which is lined up with the RF and RDF stickers (viewed from my perspective as a solver). The white arrow is pointing at the left big toe, which is about 2/3 of the way through doing a U'. I use that toe to drag the LUF sticker to FUR, while the right foot is positioned to hold the rest of the cube stationary.

Hope this helps!
