Jeweler Polished Cubies.

I bought a new DIY kit and I heard about various people having a go at sanding some of the rough pieces off of there cube pieces. So I went to my dad (jeweler by trade) telling him of there stories and he said he will give it a go. He came back to me after a couple hours with all the edge pieces. I had a look at them and all of the sides that weren't gonna be covered by stickers were mirror finish. Each side looked like glass. He said it takes a lot of work so he will do the rest later. So until then i can only wonder what the cube will be like when it is complete.

I'm curious, what exactly does "jeweler polishing" entail?
Is it like, sandblasting, or something with abrasives?

"Jewler's rouge" is a very fine abrasive paste used for polishing gemstones. It's probably way, way finer than any sandpaper you can find.
