Just looking for tips on how to improve. This video is kind of old, now I get around 4-5 minutes every time. I am also getting v-cubes for the holidays, and I think that will help alot.

4x4

I know, I need an eastsheen. Any tips unrelated to that would be helpful, like what to work on most. My 4x4 just CAN'T TURN ANY FASTER, or it pops just about every time I turn it. I think my centers are good, but edges need work (I learned how to do 2 edges at a time and build ring pairing just after filming this).

You don't need an Eastsheen to get fast; I can get sub-1:20's with Rubik's. I'd advise going really slow for a couple solves so there are no pauses at all, and then go as fast as you can while having minimal pausing; there were notable pauses throughout both solves. Lookahead is what kills people's times (or makes them amazing).

I got an official 57.xx average with a Rubik's 4x4... the old ones (before the retool) were really good if you let them get loose enough. The new ones aren't quite as good, but I can still average 1:10ish on a decent one.

I have done sub-1:05 avgs with Rubik's 4x4's, and that is still pretty slow these days. I am hoping the new Mefferts ones that are remakes of the 1982 4x4's will be better.

As far as improving your times, read similar 4x4 threads where people ask for help improving speed. You have lots of room for improvement on everything. Practice. Good luck.
