I spent 22 minutes memorizing. This is my second successful attempt, and I have shown a lot of improvement (last one took an hour and a half to memorize). It also had an F perm which I am pretty slow at, so I will probably be able to improve this next time I try. This was done in a car, so it is a bit shaky and has no sound. I also didn't have a blindfold in the car, so I had to just close my eyes, and you'll have to believe me that I didn't open them. :)

It is really a 22min and 16.65sec blindfoldsolve then. When blindfold solving, you start the clock when you first start memorizing the cube.

You are correct for a regular blindfolded solve.

However for speed blindfolded the time you memorize is not important. The time that the actual solving takes is the time that is measured.

Basically for regular blindfolded solving you memorize the entire cube and solve it piece by piece while you have to be very carefull to disturb as few pieces as possible.

For speed blindfolded you "look ahead" to see the entire solve in your head. You basically memorize the Cross, 4 pairs, OLL, PLL (if you are a Fridrich/CFOP solver) and have to calculate all the disturbances in advance

Those eyes are closed all the time, right? ;)
Nice to see that others are doing this. I might pick this up again after 3x3x3 BLD and 4x4x4 BLD improvement and try to get a nonlucky sub-12...

How do you do your speed BLD's?

I will have to make another one sometime with a blindfold on. I do the speed BLD solves pretty much the same way as you do. I am still not very good at the LL, I get pretty confused at where a piece is and where it should go, although once I've traced through the OLL and know how the edges and corners will cycle, I can usually figure out the PLL fairly quickly.
