Is this a good fridrich F2L?

This is how I'd usually solve the F2L:

Scramble: D2 R' L B L D2 B' L' F' B L U2 L2 R' B' L R F2 R L U' F B2 R2 D2

Cross: D R U2 F' L' U F U' x2
F2L #1: U2 R' U' R L' U' L
F2L #2: R' U R U2 B U2 B' U B U' B'
F2L #3: U F' U2 F U' F' U F
F2L #4: B' U B U2 B' U2 B U' B' U B

Is this ok, or are there shorter algorithms that I could use?

Do you actually not rotate?
This may just be me, but the large number of B moves is disturbing for me.

My solve for this would be:
x2 F' R' U' L U' F' (trying to preserve the red/blue F2L pair) a u2 or D2 away from cross being done
Now I'd see that the one pair is in UB-R and another magically appeared in FR-D
U2 R U R' D2 to finish off the cross (11 move cross ftw!)
Now I get to have a little fun throwing the F2L pairs in
U2 L U' L' (4/15)
U2 (1/16) (I now see that FR and UF are "bad" and that the pair at UBL and UL is my least favorite kind.)
R' F R F' (4/20)
R' U R U' R' U R (7/27)
U y' R U R' (4/31)
etc

so 31 compared to your 45, with few rotations.

teller's approach is nicer, but I was overwhelmed by the nice pair easily preserved. :D

Cross: x B2 D R2 F D' R D' F D
F2L #1: y2 R' U2 R2 U R'
F2L #2: y' F' U2 F U' F' U' F
F2L #3: y' F' U' F U' F' U F
F2L #4: y' U' F' U2 F U'

Great scramble there, sexy OLL+PLL skip. :D

33 moves, beat that. :p

I don't know if I would've solved like this in a speedsolve, sometimes I chicken out off more fancy stuff, anyway:

z2 F' R2 L D y R2 U R' B' R2 [XX-cross minus one edge]
L U' F2 L' [Last cross piece]
L U2 L' [3rd pair]
R U' R' U R U2 R' U R U' R' [Forth pair]

Why do people scramble with their cross colour on U?

In competition, cubes are scrambled with white on U and green on F.

So? What does that have to do with what people do at home? Isn't it more convenient to scramble with your cross colour on D, since there is where it should be unless you do cross on top? Luckily for me, since white is my LL colour that's not a problem.

It's a just good habit to get into since the proper way to scramble would be white U green F. Also in competition when you're about to inspect the cube it usually keeps it's orientation from the way it's scrambled (white on U) so might as well practice it like that at home.

It's always good to have standards, i.e. for sharing lolscrambles. At home I scramble with cross color on D, nothing else than a habit.

This is my f2l solution. my cross was bad (saving a pair) but I was just wondering if my f2l was up to scratch.

x2 F' R' U L R B' R' B D2 B'
L' R U2 R' L
U L' U' L U' L' U L
U R2 U2 R U R' U R2
y2 Triple sexy.

U' R U R' U2 R U' R2 F R F'

U2 L' U' L

U2 R' U2 R U' R B R' B'

U2 L U L'

I think I've written that down wrong but the move count should still be good!

28 moves, 0 rotations. Beauty, why am I not faster? =p

Incidentally, that's followed by a very easy OLL + T-perm. I'd love to meet this solve in comp!

I solved this as I would in a normal solve, and then wrote everything down afterwards.

I assume you want us to use your cross so I'll use that:

1: R' U2 R U L' U' L
2: U2 y' R' U' R
3: U L' U2 L2 U L'
4: U2 L' U' L U' L' U2 L U2 L' U' L

It's not fancy or anything, it's just what I did normally while actually solving it (I assume that's what you want). Also, if I solved it again, the result would probably be something different as I don't spot all the pieces in the same order every time.

I suggest you try to remove your B/B's from your solves and try it again someday. You should see some improvement.

I think my F2L is bad too. I probably wouldn't use white cross here but I will anyway.

Cross: z x' (Cross on right) U' F B' L' F U' F' R2
F2L #1: L' B L B' F L F'
F2L #2: F' L F L' D L D'
F2L #3: x' U L U' L' U L U' L' U L U'
F2L #4: F L2 F' L2 F L' F' L2 F' D F D' z

Those are just the first things I saw. It feels a lot less awkward than yours, I don't like all the B moves.

As you can see, everyone has their own F2L style. As long as you can do it fast, it's fine.

My solution:
x2
Cross: F' U M' U x' D2
First F2L pair was preserved without extra moves, so bonus =).
F2L1: d' L' U L
Adjust U and insert preserved pair.
F2L2: R' U' R U' (R U R')
I see a easy case for the red-green pair, so I do that.
F2L3: d' U' R' U R U2 R U [R]
Setting up another easy case. Also makes the last pair. [R] cancels out.
F2L4: R2 U2 R
Insert.
Total: 27

Pretty good scramble. Like others said, try to cut down on the B/B' moves, they are probably slowing you down a lot.

Cross: U2 L F' y U2 R2
F2L 1: U' R U' R' U2 R' U R
F2L 2: y' U2 R U R'
F2L 3 & 4 (Multislotting): L' U'2 R' U' R U2 L U2 L' U L

28 moves =)

x2 B' F' U' L R' F u2 =7 moves
U2 R' U R2 U' R' =6 moves
d' R' U R L U L' =7 moves
R' U2 R U' R' U R =7 moves
y U2 L' U' L U2 F U' F' =8 moves
35 move F2L. Nothing special about the movecount, but I executed it a little faster than my average F2L.
y2 Triple sexy.
y2 triple sexy is not sexy.
Try using (U L U' L') (U L U' L') (U L U' L') to do the sexy move from a different angle.
