Do you guys think there is talent involved in being a top cuber? And if so what talent(s) is it specifically? I'm just curious if its one of those things where if anyone puts in hours of work can they get to the top? Or is there is a natural talent factor involved? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

nice topic

I personally think you need to be able to have some talent in the following:
Memorizing things
Pattern recognition
Good intuition/good understanding of cause and effect

With ZB slowly becoming the method for some of the best solvers in the world, you need to be good at recognizing patterns and memorizing algorithms. You should also be able to see how pieces interact with each other on the cube. Having good pattern recognition means you literally see patterns everywhere, this is how i figured out ZBLS on my own. I used my knowledge from APB EO and applied it to normal CFOP solving to force a cross on top. It’s more of a VHLS(i think that’s what it’s called) though. All of these could probably be trained but having a natural talent in these is really going to help a lot

I seem to have a talent for memorizing algs and seeing patterns too

PS. I forgot about visualization which is huge for planning further in inspection
