Well, if you really want to assemble one, I guess it wouldn't hurt. I was curios and popped mine open, now it's in pieces. It's a pain in the arse to assemble

But does it help? And how much do you're time increase if you're lubing it? Can it get some damage if you don't lube it??

I don't gain any time from lubing an Eastsheen 5x5x5. It doesn't damage it whether it is lubed or not. Lube it if you like that feel, or don't if you don't want to make the effort.
