Is cubing getting too easy?

Looking at the records on the WCA, it seems to me that a record is broken nearly every day - is this because people are just getting better and better at cubing and it is becoming more popular; or because it's becoming too easy with computers that can find algorithms for every position that people can just memorise and practice for hours a day?
So anyway, post your verdict on the resurgence of cubing and ever-improving cubers. :P

its getting easier to learn, definitely. with places like this, and people like badmephisto, bob burton, dan harris etc, resources are abundant. however, the top cubers have always been the ones with the most talent and patience. SO, being a star at cubing isnt getting easier (its all relative anyway), but getting a sub-30, sub-20 average is. :)

This is why I don't do 3x3 speedsolving anymore. I just took an average and I went from 20 to 21...

It's easy to solve the cube once you know the method but to be fast, it would take years or some may not even reach it.

IMO, i think that cubing is getting more popular, i have only been cubin scince april and i already am averaging in the 20's. i also think it is with the vast resources we have now like here, bob burton, dan harris ect.... i also think that the people who really enjoy solving the cube and become addicted just practice and practice

Well, sharing information is the trick in combination with training -not hours just enough- and a good cube, maybe this is why the Dutch and French cubers improve so fast. Organise some informal cubemeetings , this helps a lot, it help also to live in a small country like the Netherlands....

That's one of the goals of KOII, to hold meetings other than competitions.
