Irrational Cubing Friend Thread

I have one friend, and he likes pyraminx and 2x2. He has a gan enhanced for pyra, and a valk 2 m for 2x2. He averages 20 seconds on each. Now he wants an 11 M pro and asked me to get it to him for Christmas. I don't even have that many cubes, and only keep a decent main for most events, without too many extra cubes. He expects me to get him an 11 M pro, and he isn't sub 1 on 3x3 even. Share your stories here.

My school got really into cubing for like 2 months so all my friends got to like 1:30 3x3 and quit. Except one who averages 22 on 3x3, 5 on 2x2 and can solve but is really trash at other events. He is a total gan fanboy.

my friend has a rubiks edition, said he will get a RS3M 2020, never got it, and wants me to teach him double flicks...

This is kind of how I started cubing. In 6th grade, cubing was very popular, but I’m the only one that stuck with it. A bunch of us bought $25 Gan Air’s, while some just used the Rubik’s brands they had laying around their house. The fastest anyone ever got besides me was a PB of 38 seconds.

yep, except I taught myself how to solve a layer on 2x2 in 2018, then got a last layer skip after a ton of tries, and thought I was a genius. Then I got my hands on a 3x3 and could only do a layer.(2 sides once LOL)In fall 2019, my friend taught me the 3x3, I bought a speedcube, and I started a trend. Then I quit, but started speedcubing for the first time in april of this year

Update: Having a Pyra race today with the friend, lets see if he's as good as he thinks he is
