improving overall average

ok well i average about 55 seconds at the moment and i know f2l intuitively and 2 look oll/pll and i do my cross in about 8 seconds f2l about 30 seconds and 2 look in about 15 seconds need help on improving my times?

Just practice, maybe get a new cube, That was my time just two weeks ago, and now I just got a new PB of 30.52. I would also suggest to work on your F2L and start learning the PLLs. I only need 6 more. hehe.

Edit: I average 42 secs.

Your F2L is terrible. Practice that the most.

why should he shutup. if you focus too much on f2l, everything else can get slower. i agree that you should just practice everything

I disagree. I almost never practice my PLLs and I average 15-17 seconds. Did I mention I only know 19 OLLs?

Haha I'm just joking (about practicing too much on F2L part isn't bad), and I think puzzlemaster was too.

As mentioned by other people, I think your F2L is your worst part. Try to practice it more and get better at it, and you should be able to get it in 20 seconds no problem if you practice a lot.

After that, you might want to start learning the PLLs, or get your cross faster.

Then start to look ahead in F2L and that alone should lower your times tremendously.

Yeah they were merely trying to stave off beginner's LL madness. I had it too and it is not fun. I would have been oh so very grateful if I had someone like these guys to tell me to work on my f2l earlier, and I would have been saved a lot of frustration in the long run. Some ass on puzzleproz tried to convince me that at 30 seconds average with Petrus I should learn 1 look last layer. This kind of a message needs to be conveyed to beginners early on.
