I Have Decided To Make A Bad Choice

@precompsubwr in the grand scheme of things, I am doing quite well.

You're rated 2 229,875 (2,229.875 in freedom units)

@OtaMota Thanks for changing your original post, but you did break my rules: "The first few posts are solely reserved for people telling me that I should not do this."

You are rated 44 972,25 (44,972.24 in freedom units)

@AJT17 Yeah, you're probably right. That is my minimum, but like realistically, I should be able to do 10 algs per day or more. I keep a notebook for these types of things (you should see my chess notebook from when I got to 2104 [10 min matches] on chees.com), so that should help me even more.

AJT17, you are rated 6 035,769231 (6,035.769231)

@Garf (love the name btw) yeah yeah yeah yeah. But you're right. But that is not how I work, going back to my time learning chess. I played something called the Sicilian Defence, easily the most challenging black system ever. I had (have?) the following variation memorized out to the 8 move on what was the computer's perfect move.

  • Najdorf
  • Dragon
  • Classical
  • Scheveningen
  • Sveshnikov
  • Kan (Paulsen)
  • Taimanov
  • Alapin
  • Closed
  • Accelerated Dragon
  • Hyper-Accelerated Dragon
  • Four Knights
  • Rossolimo
  • O'Kelly
that's all of the top of my head...
So, I do best when I can just memorize things.
Why do you keep showing people their “scores”

Nicolas Gerzso, male, 44 completed solves in 4 different competitions.

On 3x3, you're rated 61,012 in the world. On 2x2, you're rated 81,691 in the world. On Skewb, you're rated 52666 in the world. After Averaging this I find your "score".

How would I start to learn things like 3-style, cause I looked into it once, and it confused me, not gonna lie.

Oh nononono you don't want to look into 3-style, but it is good you are starting to think about those things.
Here’s blind broken down by someone that doesn’t do blind (but I have a single of 59s)

You want to keep pieces where they belong without messing up the entire cube. Therefore, you will use one piece as a place to store pieces. This is called the buffer and this piece position is where you swap pieces to.
Now you have another position on the cube that you move pieces to without messing with the buffer location, using setup moves you practice.
Doing this, you do setup moves, swap, and undo setup moves.
The basic idea of this method is called the Pochman method, which you can solve both corners and edges in the fashion.

Yeah, I tend to get in over my head on things like this...

I've looked into this (a little), and my fastest solve was 2:48.xx. Then I was like, "This seems inefficient, I should learn how to do it the 'right way'." So I looked into other methods rather than Pochman and found M2 and 3-style. So I tried to learn 3-style, let's just say I had to buy a new cube...

So that's why a GAN shattered on a wall, and I gave up blindfolded solves. However, I am willing to retry learning blindfold, but this time I'm not going to use my X-Man for fear that it might stop working for some reason (totally not me throwing it).

p.s. I have my T perm and Y perm forever engraved into my head.

Forgot to mention that the whole lettering system did make sense to me, I almost started to understand M2, but my GAN conveniently disappeared...

Can't you use your X-man for 3BLD(and try not to throw it)?
