I Have Decided To Make A Bad Choice

1 alg every 3 days will take you well over 3 years to learn ZBLL. You will also learn PLL in the process. Learning ZBLL is an extremely silly thing to do when you have zero alg learning and memory techniques. Learning algs gets easier the more you do it, and you know almost none. This will not go well.

here a few fun facts @ProStar

  • You're on average (of all your WCA PR) ranked 15 499,36364 (or 15,499.36364 if you use freedom numbers)
  • I already know full OLL, PLL, EG-1, EG-2, and Winter Variation (idk why I learned this)
  • I know it will take me 2,743326489 (2.743326489) years or 1 002 days.
  • I plan on having my most annoying 1 002 days right now, rather than later, when my brain is older and can't learn things as well due to age.

Nothing, I just saw number and decided to do an average. Welcome to ADHD and OCD and ADD and Bipolar and Anxiety and Depression and...

@gsingh He already knows PLL and OLL, the assumption that he was learning ZBLL as is first algs ended up to be false. I don't know what pTr averages, which would be good info, but with the info I have now, I dont see what would be wrong with ZBLL at this point, except for maybe learning an alg every 3 days, should be more often I think.

That makes so much sense. When I said "forget OLL and PLL", I meant that I wasn't going to use them any longer. But re-reading it and thinking about what you said, I can see why I have a D in English.

I average around 25. (F2L sucks) OLL and PLL take me like 3-5 seconds, but stupid F2L. And yes, before ya'll are like "just work on your F2L", I am ok, so chill.

@OtaMota Thanks for changing your original post, but you did break my rules: "The first few posts are solely reserved for people telling me that I should not do this."

You are rated 44 972,25 (44,972.24 in freedom units)

Yeah, if you're gonna learn ZBLL at that point doing one CP set a week is more than enough time to get the algs down from my personal experience. Even less time is needed to be honest since I just learned a full Sune CP set today and I am already feeling very confident in them. But @pTr I would at least do one CP set per week to 2 weeks which will give you more than enough time to learn the algs and gain good recognition and confidence in using them while also aiming to complete full ZB in a more reasonable time frame.

I don’t know how much my post will mean to you but here goes:
First of all, I’m sorry about what you’re going through rn. OCD is a serious thing that convinces your brain to do something or else bad things will happen. However, I now know you’re doing well and I hope things will just keep getting better for you.
Secondly, instead of completely forgetting about OLL and PLL and just skip straight to ZBLL, you should supplement the algs into your solves. Do slow solves to make sure all of your other steps are good. Watch example solves. That sort of thing.
As for learning the algs, try to learn 6 algs a day at least, and train what you learned at the end of the week. Mess around with F2Ls to see what ZBLS algs you can create. Watch example solves to see the best algs used by the pros.

Also, 6 algs a day may be a lot, but it’s better than learning 1 alg every 3 days. That seems like a way to lose interest very fast.

May I ask what you average on 3x3 and what your goals are for this year?

@AJT17 Yeah, you're probably right. That is my minimum, but like realistically, I should be able to do 10 algs per day or more. I keep a notebook for these types of things (you should see my chess notebook from when I got to 2104 [10 min matches] on chees.com), so that should help me even more.

AJT17, you are rated 6 035,769231 (6,035.769231)

@Garf (love the name btw) yeah yeah yeah yeah. But you're right. But that is not how I work, going back to my time learning chess. I played something called the Sicilian Defence, easily the most challenging black system ever. I had (have?) the following variation memorized out to the 8 move on what was the computer's perfect move.

  • Najdorf
  • Dragon
  • Classical
  • Scheveningen
  • Sveshnikov
  • Kan (Paulsen)
  • Taimanov
  • Alapin
  • Closed
  • Accelerated Dragon
  • Hyper-Accelerated Dragon
  • Four Knights
  • Rossolimo
  • O'Kelly
that's all of the top of my head...
So, I do best when I can just memorize things.

So I am going to forget PLL and OLL, and I will learn ZBLL and ZBLS.

The first few posts are solely reserved for people telling me that I should not do this. Then I would need some advice. My plan is 1 alg every 3 days.
I am currently learning ZBLL and as long as you use a trainer (I use bestsiteever.net) you can learn them efficiently and quickly. I started last week and have 27 T cases memorized. Another tip is that the T and U cases have almost identical cases, so if you learn a T case you can also learn a U case, that way you can learn them 2x as fast.
