I hate the Rubik's Revenge!

Rubik's 4x4s might have that rail system but they're awful either way. I got one and I didn't even turn it 20 times let along solve it before a center pieces snapped off and went flying. I though that was a fluke so i exchanged for a new one and that broke in just over a week. Besides shoddy craftsmanship on the Rubik's Revenge it's a beast to turn and doesn't cut corners at all. After the second one broke I just got my money back and was so turned off from Rubik's brand products I sent back the 5x5 before I even opened it. I'm currently looking into Marus and Mefferts for a replacement 4x4.

As far as 3x3s go I highly recommend the Hayian Alpha-V. I got it a few weeks ago and recently did the Memory mod and yesterday I lubed it with Lubix and the thing is an animal. It cuts up to 45 degrees and turns very fast. I got the white one and it took some adjusting since I'd been using a black Rubik's storebought but now that I'm used to it I'm only buying white cubes.

4x4: Maru
3x3: GuHong if you want a really fast and awesome corner cutting cube (the best corner cuts), F-II if you like a bubbly feel and a fast cube (pretty good corner cutting) and a Haiyan Memory if you like a crispy feel, with great corner cutting.

It is just Aplha-V with the Hayian Memory mod. Not Hayian Alpha-V. Haven't tried Lubix though.

I have a Mini-QJ, which is awesome :) It's really fast, but isn't the best for cutting corners.
Based on everyone elses' opinions though, I would have to go with the Maru for the 4x4.

I love my F-II for 3x3; although the Type A5 and Guhong look just as appealing (cubing-wise).

My bad on the Alpha-V but yea give lubix a go. If it really lasts for 6 months without degrading in performance at all then its absolutely worth the money. The short term effects I've seen on my cube are astounding.

I hate it too. I bought a storebought for $32 and it broke. It was locking always too, and I once forced it too hard and it broke.

$32 down the train. I'm waiting for some money on my Paypal account and then I'm buying one on the internet. Screw storebought revenges.:mad:
