I hate the Rubik's Revenge!

Among my cubes, the Rubik's Revenge is definitely the worst. It locks up frequently during solves! I have a hard time enjoying to solve it. Just because it locks up all the time, it takes about the same time as my V-Cube 5 takes to solve, sometimes longer!

I am in desperate need of a new 4x4! And I need recommendations! What 4x4 do you use?

Also, to add:
I do accept recommendations for a 3x3 as well. Kinda want a new 3x3 too. I got one that is pretty good, but... yeah.

get a guhong for a 3x3 and i hear that the lanlan 4x4 is pretty good. I plan to buy it myself! The mini qj feels comfy but mine broke a bit too soon.

If you've got the money, get the Maru 4x4, which seems to be amazing. Don't own one though.

Get a GuHong, F-II, or A5 for 3x3. I recommend GuHong and maybe a Type C. Reason behind this is because using GuHong as your main, your style of cubing will change to be a bit more sloppier. So get a Type C, or play with a storebought every once in a while (Do avg 50 maybe one a week?) to keep your style nice and accurate.

I bought the lanlan 4x4 and love it, moves well and cuts nicely for a 4x4.
It is pretty cheap too, bigbee sells them.

Dayan is coming out with a new 4x4 mechanism. It has no hidden layers.

I would wait for that to come out. Also, don't get YJ or Maru 4x4s, as they are knock-offs.

The Maru uses the V-6 style core.
Shame V copyrighted the idea and has just been sitting on it.
Seems like a good way to lose profit to me.

It is a KO, a V-Cube 4 KO to be precise. It uses the same mechanism as the V-Cube which is patented. The V-cube 4 isn't out yet, but will come out some time.

I have my doubts. If enough people buy the Maru 4x4x4 why would they bother?
I bet if they do bring it out they won't even fuse 2 of the inner mechanism pieces to the core.

Its design is similar, but if you've ever actually played with or taken apart a Maru, you'd know that it is significantly different from what a vanilla V4 would look like on the inside. SS recognizes it as not being a knockoff.

If you didn't want to spend money on a different 4x4, you could try Thrawst's squircle mod, which I tried on my Rubik's Revenge and now it's great. It's not that hard of a mod to do, just make sure you don't sand too much.

But if you wanted a new one altogether, I would recommend the LanLan or the Maru.

Woah I had the same idea dayan did 2 years ago when I got my rubiks 4x4. Its a ballcore cube but the ball on the inside instead of having the tracks like rubiks the centers are attatched to a ball 2x2.

4x4 - Try out a Meffert's or a Maru, they are both great 4x4's and I highly recommend them. Don't get an eastsheen, it locks up and there are purple stickers instead of orange.

Maru 4x4 imo, is the best 4x4 out there. I've tried most of them, except the lan lan. It requires just a pinch of breaking in. But beware, if your maru falls apart, putting it back together maybe a hassle, depending if you know how to assemble a vcube 6.

I'm not saying that knockoffs are low quality, I'm saying one should not buy knockoffs for moral/legal reasons.

these 'knock offs' are totally different from the original Revenge.
Why be stuck with a super crappy cube when you can have a way better one for cheaper?
