Hey guys, many of you may have seen me on the forums and have no idea who the heck I am. Well, here you go.
I've been cubing for around a year's worth of time (not including my quitting period). It all started when a friend solved a cube over dinner in around 1:30. Of course, being the non-cuber that I was, I thought that was fast. So I decided to learn to solve the cube to be faster than that friend. In a week, using a stickerless Guhong, I had improved down to sub-1:30, and in a month, I was sub-1:00. After that, I stuck with the beginner's method and kept it up for about half a year. Then I quit for about half a year because I stopped improving and got bored of it all.
Half a year later, I rediscovered my cube. I played around with it a bit, and realized how much faster I had gotten: I was around 35 seconds on my first few solves, and that quickly jumped down to 25 seconds. After that, I got a Shengshou Aurora V3, and a Shengshou 2x2. Then I got a Moyu Weilong, and the cubing story goes on. Along the way, I programmed some cubing stuff like timers, visualizers, etc.
As of now, I am 18 seconds on 3x3, a 3-5 seconds on 2x2, around 9 seconds on Pyraminx, 7 seconds on Skewb, and 33-35 seconds for 3x3 OH. I also am the president/founder of my school's Rubik's Cube Club, and I have gotten a lot of people interested and/or addicted to cubing
I don't see myself quitting anytime soon, and I'm improving by the day.
Hope you enjoyed this short little story of mine!
