Hi, it is me, ressMox, from the Great White North.

I'm possibly a newbie cuber. I learnt how to solve one in around Aug 2010, and didn't touch it again until around Oct 2011 and had to relearn everything. I just finished memorizing my PLL algorithms but there are a few that I don't really like so I'll have to check around for some alternatives. I currently average 32 seconds with a sub-30 maybe once in 10 solves. I'd appreciate any tips you guys have, or any youtube tutorials that you would recommend for getting faster.

Cubes:
Zhanchi 3x3
Guhong II on the way

Eastsheen 4x4, don't really like it, have another one on the way

Ghost Hand II 5x5

Meffert's Megaminx

MF8? Square-1

I ordered some other stuff today so hopefully it should arrive soon.

But yes, that is all I have to say. Nice to meet you guys!

Gay hey hey!

Tell use about yourself. What other interests do you have? What music do you like?

Eww you have an easts*** on the way? You should have gotten a shenshou V3 or waited till the Mf8 V2 came out.

The future is great! Feliks breaks a few more records, you know how it goes. I fixed it now :)

And thanks, I'll check those out. I should specify, I haven't really done anything besides buy lube and learn F2L and PLL and optimize my OLL. Right now my cross/F2L takes about 20 seconds of my solve, so I'd like to cut it down.

No I have an Eastsheen, because I didn't really research before I got a 4x4. I have a Dayan + MF8 on the way IIRC. Hmm, interests include writing poetry, playing volleyball, being a self-proclaimed film critic and learning how to do random things just for the sake of being able to do them.

I actually just tried going color neutral today after seeing a thread on these forums. I went up to 40s solving on sides I wasn't accustomed to the first few times. I'll practice some more and hopefully get it back down.

Edit: I was solving white cross previously. Yellow cross adds about 2s to my time, anything else pushes me up to 40s

Thanks, I'll definitely consider it. Do they have Spring/Summer competitions as well? I go to uni and work part-time so I try not to go out too much during the school year.

Edit: Never mind, from a quick glance at that link it would appear that they do. I might go to one of those instead.

Yea I can solve it using a simplified method with only a few algorithms atm. Finally got around to learning the parity edge case today. Right now I'm really slow at it (1:30 - 2:00) usually. Eventually I'll try to get faster, but I want to focus on 3x3 and my other cuboid puzzles atm. Mostly got the Square-1 to have something different.
