hi, i know to solve a rubik's cube by the mist, i think, common way.
i can do it in less than 2 minutes, and i really think i implement this way, and its time to learn some thing more advance.

as i said, i did read the sticky, but its too loaded, and it doesn't explain what exactly i should learn in my level :P

please do not delete this thread. what do you think is the best for me right now? i hate my current way, and i want to be able to solve much faster, but i don't want something too advane.. something i could handle with.. actually the way could be quite advance, as long as the guide is match my level - explained enough, and not assuming I know things I'm not.:)

Practice Practice Practice.

If you were to change methods now,you would probably add time to your current.so my opinion is,practice practice practice till sub 1 and learn fridrich.

dont rush things

wow.. really?
i honestly believed i made the most of it.. i think i read in some advance guide that its for those how can solve in few minutes.. then i solved in about 4 minutes (i start to solve few days before), so i decide to keep practice.
i have no problem for keep practice, for me it is the easiest thing, but are you sure? i mean i use this way

(i didn't learn from here, but this is my way)

and even if i do have to keep practice in my current way, there is no problem i learn a new one in the same time, right? (i feel my brain has to learn something more challenging:))

I also used the method from that site of yours before I go to intuitive f2l + 2 look oll + 1 look pll. For 1st 2 layer I think it's better to learn intuitive f2l in badmephisto youtube video. Your last layer is quite ok I think, only slight difference from 2 look oll + 1 look pll. Like maybe 3~5 secs diff? But LBL vs f2l is like 12~15 secs diff.. thats for me, not sure about u.

Layer by layer is a fine method for relative beginners. the easiest way to speed up times is to have a lubricated DIY type (a) or type (d), and to learn fingertricks. with enough practice, people can finish the first 2 layers with that method in between 20-30s (not counting Erik, okay!).
Personally, I dont like that last layer method on Jasmines page. Go to

http://www.cubefreak.net/twolook.html

Then watch this

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=DTYvklyOpVM&feature=PlayList&p=0B7E0E5922B76D76&index=8

for an excellent video (watch his others, they are brilliant).
I learnt almost everything of his stuff, and used the sites he suggests, all of which are really, really useful, and after 3 months I am now gettin sub-20 averages.
Finally, solve with the cross on the bottom (it helps with transition), if you dont already.
Good Luck :)

At 2 minutes he doesn't even need to think about a DIY. A store bought got Yu Nakajima 11 seconds or something.

I would recommend trying to average 1:30 on the method you're using before moving on. Fast people can get get times of 30 seconds using that method. Just practice and practice and in a few days you will be averaging around 1:30. It's not very hard.

After you average around 1:30, learn how to do the cross on the bottom of the cube
http://www.cubefreak.net/cross.html
http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index.php?page=3x3x3/cfop/cross/cross

Get used to it - it will help you get faster later.

Now learn to do the first layer corners (complete) first layer on the bottom of the cube.
Watch from 6:30 in the videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofZFUgaxlTQ

Now learn how to do the second layer with your first layer on the bottom.
Watch from the beginning of the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJw9kWkMnYg

Learn those three things for now, it should get you to average at least 1:15 with a lot of practice.
