Hyper-specialization is the concept of the human body specifically adapting to certain conditions or activities. Most often it is observed in the world of sports where athletes of different sports tend to have similar traits within each group. e.g. the tennis muscular imbalance, gymnasts' massive shoulders and lats, tackle football players mishaped shoulders, a gamer's headset dent (lol)...
Sometime's it's a good thing, sometimes it's a bad thing, sometimes it just occurs and life goes on. I found out about this through my fascination with arm wrestling in which all of the elite arm wrestlers around the world have developed unstraightenable arms. These people's arm always have an at least 30 degree forward bend at the elbow even in resting position! It seems as if their arms are stuck in that wrestling form.
Anyway, that's enough context. to sum it up, Hyper-specialization is the result of repetitive activity involving motion. The body optimizes its structure to better perform or conform to this activity. Have we seen any of this in cubing?
Nothing really comes to mind in my opinion. We kind of get teased for our neck posture lol, but I feel like bad posture is just too common with other things aswell.
What examples of physical traits in cubers due to Hyper-Specialization do you guys think exists?
