I was thinking of ways to make 2-look OLL more effective, and I'm experimenting with some stuff, but what I have come up with seems to have both pros and cons. I'd like some feedback on whether the following things are worth doing or not.
1. Learn the specific cases that are solved by the 3 edge orientation algs.
+ Get a 1-look OLL for those 3 cases
- Recognition will take longer for the edge orientation step, and most of the time you will have to do 2-look anyway
2. Learn edge orientation algs from multiple angles
+ Opposite angles for all 3 cases is practically free
- Is it worth learning from all 4 angles? It only saves a U or U'
3. Learn corner orientation algs from multiple angles
+ Avoid a U2 or a cube rotation sometimes
- Would the new algs actually be faster than doing a U2 + the normal alg?
- How many angles would one learn? Are opposite angles enough, or should you go for all 4?
