My average about cross: sub-8s, i had to try BLD(and i got it) but my cross is not better, and i can't,''Don't look at the cross while doing it (have it planned out)''. I think i just keep practice huh? :o

Is your cross 8 moves or less? If not, work on that by looking at lots of example solves to see how to solve different situations. Once you can do that, stare at the cube without making a move until you can plan it out in your head, and then do it without looking. Continue this. Eventually it will become very easy, and your cross will easily go sub-4.

Thanks you guys so muck! My cross 5-8 moves> I think my fingers trick not good too. I do uR'u' so slow, slower than badmephisto :)
I use u and u' all the time in combination with R', and I can avg around 1.5 seconds or less. If your cross is 5-8 moves, getting sub-4 is less than 2 moves per second, which is easily doable. This tells me that those 5-8 moves are being determined as you solve, which can be improved simply by staring at it, and then doing it without looking (if you have to stare at it for 15 minutes, do it. Gradually the time it takes to figure out the cross will drop).

When I was working on my cross I found that it was hard to go straight from planning as I go to planning out all 4 cross pieces during inspection. If you have trouble with that, try planning 3 pieces during inspection (however long it takes) and then, once you're comfortable, plan out all 4.

Yea i frequently just plan 3 of the pieces when I don't see a good, finger friendly solution. I average around 2 for cross probably, though I never done a cross average, so i could be higher, maybe 3.

You have practise until you can visualise the whole solution and then solve it and move to F2L smoothly.

If the cross is difficult sometimes I just visualise 3 pieces and intuitively solve the 4th and it doesn't hurt the whole cube solve time that much. The worst thing is to mess up the cross due to wrong solution. 2nd worst thing is to transition to F2L badly.

My cross went from 15 seconds to about five seconds in two weeks when I got a DIY and stickered it with only the cross and centers. It helped me to see the common patterns. I also worked on doing the cross blind at the same time, so keep at that, too.

Also, be sure to learn your color scheme so you can form the cross without having to line up with the centers. I'm not great at it, I tend to do the cross 70% either lined up or 180 degrees out of phase, but that's because I don't solve cross on a single color and I need more practice.

I'll admit I don't always plan out all four pieces in a solve. When I do it's always faster, though.

If you're planning out your cross there is no reason it should be over 4 seconds. Don't worry about fingertricks - practice scrambles until you can do random turns at 2 or 3 turns per second. Once you have that doing the cross quickly should be no problem even if the turns themselves are awkward.
