How to look ahead in edge pairing??

I don't really get it, how to look ahead during 4x4 and 5x5 edge pairing?? i have search the forum, but all I got was just look ahead in f2l..

Okay, so i heard this trick from erik johnson at a competition a while back.

Don't look at the pair your making, instead, pair it in the back where you can't see it, whilst you look at another pair.

This helped me a lot.

anyway, depends on what pairing, since you use the bigcubes.com method, I would guess, when doing one tredge, look for the whole tredge. While doing the tredge, find another tredge. And if you see anything promising, remember it and use it later.
