hey guys. my target is to get under 20sec mark.
i'm using fridrich method. i have memorized most of the PLL, except the N & G, but not the OLL.
however, from my calculation, even if i memorize all the OLL and PLL, i still won't get to sub 20 because my f2l is like 20-25secs.
my personal average is around 30-37sec. best time is 20.09ses.
so i was wondering maybe someone can help me? *beside practicing. or maybe even give me links to any useful websites?
that would means a lot to me. THANKS:confused:

the answer is obvious, learn special cases for f2l, look ahead and practice

Hmm I wouldn't recommend learning any special cases. For your level, they're not necessary.

Your obvious problem is your F2L. Try to turn each face steadily with no pauses when you solve. You can start out by practicing slowly. When you're inserting one corner edge pair, look at the next to pieces you will insert. Don't look at the pair you're inserting! This will help you a lot.

This technique is called looking ahead. It is very hard to get it down well, and if you are good at it, it will speed you up very fast.

If you want to average under 30 seconds, here is an ideal time breakdown.

Cross = 5 seconds
F2L = 15 seconds
2 Look OLL = 4 seconds
Full PLL = 4 seconds

For the time being, practice your F2L A LOT. Don't worry about the other steps until you can get your F2L under 20 seconds consistently.

i mean the most special cases, i would recommend learning the "edge in place and oriented correctly" case, and he has been cubing for 3 months, its not that early :D

Yeah but I would think that looking ahead is MUCH more important than learning two F2L algorithms...

What? I didn't learn a single algorithm for F2L.

Why can't people just figure it all out by (mostly) themselves nowadays? :( I remember when I doubted Clancy/rxdeath on the fact that Fridrich F2L was intuitive.

He averages around 13 seconds.
