How to Improve My Time - Petrus Method

Well I use Petrus method to solve the cube. It usually takes me 1 minute to solve the cube. I realize that I spend most of my time looking for cubies not turning and twisting the layers at the 2x2x2 building process and the "fix the bad edges" process. That's probably the main reason why I am slow. Any help?

Besides that, how do I take advantage of the inspection time given prior to the solve.

Practice. Practice looking ahead. Practice recognizing edge orientation cases. Practice looking for your starting point and planning ahead during inspection.

I'm in your canoe. Too much look-lag with Petrus. I've found that favouring a colour scheme helps immensely. That way I pull from negative space; I know what isn't the right cubie..so I pull the opposite. Same with the bad-edge alg..I'm used to the scheme. I'm sure it's theoretically faster to be colour neautral with Petrus, put practicality is trump.

See how I tried to be constructive there?

if your not color neutral, stay that way for now. your look ahead is obviously not "perfect" so searching for the easiest case is probably not the best way to go.
