Hi, my favorite event is 2x2. I know full ortega and I use ortega. I average 7-9 seconds every solve. I don't know how to get faster. Any tips?

If you aren't already colour neutral, switch to that. It's not only very easy on 2x2 but also incredibly helpful.
Aside from that, getting good algorithms is important. Find your favourites on algdb.net and then drill them to get them fast.

Eventually you can start doing harder things like lookahead (planning OLL in inspection or predicting PBL before OLL), but those are more helpful to learn at around 4 seconds.

Thanks, I learned some new algs, since I am already color neutral. I think I just need to practice now.

I've done around 100 solves since I learned the algs and I'm getting slower times? It's weird.

try 1-looking your faces. like not just 1-looking it, try to know where your bar is located, or if you have it all solved, or all opposite.
a bit more advanced is to do a bit more extra moves or manipulate it a bit so you always have the bar in the ideal position. this ideal position is to different to everyone depending on their PBL algs. mine are all the the back so i try to put the bar at the back as much as possible in my solves.

this will take a lot of practise but these will definitely get you fast 2x2 times. LBL is kinda underrated, so if it only takes a few more moves, then do an LBL layer.
