So I average 42 seconds (out of 5 solves) and I recently switched from a Cyclone Boys Feiwu to a Weilong GTS 2m. I know full 2-look OLL and PLL. What can I do to become sub 30 average?

We have a thread about improvement! (I assume a moderator will merge this thread into that one.)

Basically, work on your F2L. If you're still using layer-by-layer, stop doing that and switch to intuitive F2L. It takes a fair amount of time to build up this "intuition", so I'd suggest doing solves away from a timer and focusing on knowing how to handle each and every F2L case.

Ah forgot to mention that I use CFOP and I'm considering switching to Roux.

Advice about doing untimed solves still holds.

I suck at using Roux (27 seconds average) compared to the other big methods (sub-20 with CFOP, Petrus, ZZ) so I can't really give advice about Roux specifically, but I have switched methods a couple of times. I think committing yourself to a single method is a mistake that a lot of beginners make; it makes sense if you're impatient and want to see immediate improvement in your times, but I feel like most people don't give other methods a chance at all. Do give Roux a try, but don't commit to never switching back to CFOP if Roux doesn't work out for you. (Same for ZZ and other methods!)

Ok, thanks for the advice.
