I personally think it has to be Yiheng Wang. He’s incredibly fast for his age and keeps getting faster every day. Currently ranked 2nd in the world, I believe he’s the one who will break the record, and it could happen anytime soon with a time of 2.32 seconds. The reason I’m guessing this time is that if his 3.38-second solve had been a PLL skip, it would have likely been 2.32 seconds, so I’m betting on that.

I think is Yiheng or Tymon, but most probably Yiheng, and I think it will be low 3-high 2, I'm not going to be suprised If he pulles a mid-low 2, but very hard

I agree with Yiheng, he is easily the fastest speedcuber in the world, and ranked 1st by a huge margin.

I think 2.32 is unrealistic though. By the way his PLL took 0.76 seconds, and AUF on the PLL skip would have probably been around 0.15(I saw a previous PLL skip AUF of his was 0.24, but with a U2). So I'd say if it was a PLL skip, it would have been around a 2.77.

Even if a PLL skip with his 3.38 had been a 2.32, that measurement doesn't have anything to do with future records as F2L will take different times to do each solve.

I looked at Yiheng Wang's averages a while back. Maybe him. One question is how many people are there who could break WR for 3x3? What is the pool of contenders? Maybe it would come from random 1/X number of players.
