How long

I have actively been cubing for 2-3 years now, but I have been able to solve a 3x3 for much more than that. I average 9 seconds on 3x3, but I'm really out of pactice now so probably more like 10.
the hardest part for me is memorizing the algorithms. I've memorized the 4 basic pll ones, but am struggling with the others. Melts my brain
The more algs you learn, the easier it becomes. I'm 100% sure that if I really try, I could learn EG2 or TCLL (both alg sets that consist of 42 algs) in less than a day, but I wouldnt have even considered that humanly possible when I hadn't learned full PLL yet myself.

I have been cubing on and off for around 7 years now! I took a very long break after a year or two, but I started up this January again! I average around 18-19 seconds on 3x3, but I also typically practice other events more often.

To a non blind solver they are. The fact that anyone can solve a 5x5 or dozens of 3x3s blindfolded is just so insane. I have the highest respect for anyone with the dedication to do that.
I understand what you are saying, as I used to think the same. This is why i said 'as they seem to an outsider'. It just seems so inhuman to memorize all that. But think about this: back when you couldn't solve a rubiks cube, didnt you think that solving one was incredibly difficult? Sure, you knew there must be a method, but it still seemed immensly tough. If a non-cuber would tell you how incredible you are for solving a cube, I'm sure you would try to convince them they can do it too.
I can’t solve a 3x3 bld yet but I’m working on it.

All the best learning 3BLD, I'm sure you'll succeed!
