Started cubing 2002 - 2004ish, I forgot the year, and was still over 2 minutes in 2007. October 2008 I averaged 50 (currently using F2L and full PLL/2 look OLL, same as now :p). First competition was june/july 2009 and I averaged about 27 then.

4 months I used beginners method, switched to CFOP, times went way up. After that, probably 1 1/2 months after switching to CFOP I got to sub 45. Sub 30 CONSISTENTLY probably took 3-4 more months. Though I was on/off for cubing pretty much the whole time. Some days I practiced, others I didn't.
