How long did it take for you to get sub 20 seconds?

Really? 5-10 minutes per day, 90-120 days? That's a MAXIMUM of 1200 minutes, or 20 hours of cubing. Even if you started cubing at 20 seconds per solve, and could scramble and inspect in 10 seconds, that's a maximum of 2 solves per minute, or 2400 solves. And that's based on the upper limits of both of your estimates, and you solving in 20 seconds (on average) from the start. Far more likely, based on the figures given, that you'd have done between 800-1200 solves in that amount of time.

If those figures are accurate, that's the most incredible cubing accomplishment, and by a light year the fastest improvement, that I've ever heard of.

Is it possible, just possible, that you cube for > 5-10 minutes a day?

HAHAHA Post of the year! Thank you. :-)

If u did a poll, you would find that quite a lot of people get sub20 in a few months.

I highly doubt that. I just looked at Mats Valks WCA profile. I did his first competition on November 24th 2007 and had his first sub 20 average about 6 months later. I think Mats is not a regular fellow when it comes to cube genetics so I really doubt that.

Btw, I am closing on 2 years practice more than an hour per day, have reasonably good lookahead, but just no fast TPS. I am no way near sub 20.

I took a gigantic like 2 month break halfway through my road to sub-20. But took me around 380 days. Im just barely sub 20 with a 19-20 avg.

I started speedcubing in december 2012 I think. I remember that in february 2013 I was desperately trying to get sub 40. I broke the 20s barrier in the last 3 days. Right now my best avg of 5 in a session of like 30 or so is sub 19 or sub 18 most of the time, although right now I'm usually worse because I often forget OLL algs(I recently finished full OLL)

You'll get there guys, and it's an amazing feeling :)

what is your tps? because it really doesnt have to be that fast to get sub 20. i did a solve ( i think it was like 18 seconds so pretty much what i average) and my tps was right under 4. i might just try to turn faster and even if your lookahead isnt that good at the beginning it will get better with practice. i dont know if your already doing this but you pretty much have to get higher tps at some point to get faster so good lookahead on low tps is useless in my opinion
