How long did it take for you to get sub 20 seconds?

No, I don't. it is a nice improvement. Systematically designed to be that way.
I claimed sub-11. Although my times are varying. I need to get with it and stay consistently obsessed. I HAVE gotten lots of sub-10 times, but I haven't gotten the official Ao12 of sub-10 just yet. Gimme a few weeks/months.

my first sub 20 was a little less than 2 months after i got my first cube. I use CFOP and i learned 4 algroithms of coll. i got 28.47 seconds with a pll skip. I'm going to post my first average tomoorow

Took me 9 months with a 3 month break in between. Never thought I was ever going to get there. I kept averaging 22-23 seconds. Finally I got faster with my recognition and broke the wall.

I started cubing 6 months ago so about 3-4 months for first sub-20 and my best average is now 15.98 but once you get sub-20 you start to improve by a lot less each time. Once I started to learn fridrich my times dropped rapidly up to 35 secs, but I find practicing makes you improve the most.

A sub 20 single took me 3 months.
An average took me about 4-5 months.
It's been 8 months, and I'm about a 15-16 second average.

got my very first sub 20 about 10 months into cubing. Had a PLL skip. anyway, I consistently average 33-35 seconds. Probably doesn't help that I still use a Rubik's brand, but it's what I got. Ordered a Zhanchi for Christmas and can't wait until it comes.

So you're not sub20.

Having a subxx avg5 doesn't make someone "halfway" to subxx. I have 3 sub9 avgs5, but I'm not sub9 by any reasonable standard.

Which means you average sub 23.

I believe it took me about 2 months to get a sub 25 average, but then I stopped cubing for a few months. Started again 3 months later, worked at it... didn't get it for like... another 4 months. I tend to take alot of pausing with my cubing.
If you really are looking to get faster in less time, don't take breaks still at least practice everyday for like 30 minutes or so?

I cube less than 30 mins a day, on average, and I'm sub 20 in a year.

Just to clarify, this is GLOBAL sub 20, so if I sat down and did an Ao100, I'd expect 19.xx, and be happy with low 19, ecstatic with sub 19.
