How long did it take for you to get sub 20 seconds?

I got sub 20 in 3 months. That was back in early 2006, decent store cube, pretty bad stickers. I'm guessing that it's normal for people to sub 20 in a month or two thesedays, considering all the websites and forums that can help people out.

I think my first sub20 average (of 12) was 6-7 months after starting speedcubing. 5 months later my PB is 18.65..................................

How is it possible to get sub-20 in 2 months!?!?! It took me about a year from now, and still I am not completely sub-20! I have gotten 2 sub-20 averages so far, but I still get 21 second averages most of the time.......

I've been cubing for about 5 months now and I still haven't gotten a sub 20 solve. My fastest is about 22s. So I guess I'll be there soon.

I'm very impressed with a 2month sub-20 though. That's crazy.

five months in now still only around a 22 second average. Then again, i haven't practiced in a month because of finals and school. Starting to get at least 1-3 sub 20s per average though

I've been cubing for almost a year and I got my first sub-20 time a couple months ago, I still average around 25 seconds with a PB of 16.66.

I haven't been fully practicing the whole time though, about a month after I started my cube broke and I didn't get another one for a month, so that was wasted time.

It took me about 5 months to avg sub-20 consistently, although I got bored of cubing and took a 1 month break in between. I used Fridrich F2L and 3-look LL.

I'm not near sub-20 yet, but I just wanted to post here. I've been cubing for about 3-4 months, and I can get around the 40second mark constantly. I lost my cube 4-6 weeks ago (storebought) and now I'm waiting for my type-D DIY cube from cube4you. I always had my cube on me during the times that I did have it, every time I left the house, I'd have it on me. I was pretty addicted, and I guess I still am -_-"

I was also finding OLLs myself, but now, I'm learning a few cases that I can easily recognize myself from this site's OLL collection.
So close to sub-20...

i'm at about 7 months now and i consistently get 25 second averages. sub-20 solves are still rare but they are becoming more frequent, and further under 20. i designed my own system for Fridrich f2l back in December, it only took one night for me to design it. however i was slow at it and didn't start practicing it until February, and after that my f2l average dropped by from 35 to 25, and it is now around 12-15. i have designed/discovered 7 OLLs on my own so far, but i'm learning the PLLs from other sites. i expect sub-20 average by the end of summer.

I have been cubing for 2 months and 1 day (yes thats right)

and i have one 3/5 sub 20 average.

My best single is 14.59 (pll skip)
