How long did it take for you to get sub 20 seconds?

Since i only have a sub 25 average of 100 i guess i'm not supposed to post here, but i'll do it as an moral booster for people that are struggeling to get trough to the other side of the magic 20 second boundry.

I have been cubing since 24/12/08, cause my father in law got a cube as a present for christmas. Naturally i claimed it as my own, and the rest is history as they say :)

Some quick math tells me i've been cubing almost 9 months, and to make matters worse, i've spent A LOT of time cubing. At least 2 hours a day in average, probably more (maybe over 3).

Still, i'm just barely sub 25 consistent.

I don't know why im such a slow learner. Maybe my approach was wrong (learned all 57 oll's early), maybe i'm just retarded, i don't know :s

anyway, my point is: don't loose hope, just keep playing with your cube, and try to have fun. Times will drop by themselves ;)

Edit:

21/11/2009: today i got my first sub 20 avg of 12: 19.865. It took me 11 months -3 days. (started christmas eve last year)

Edit 2:

29/12/2009: today i got my first sub 20 avg of 100: 19.934. It took me 1 year and 5 days.

I'm not Sub-20 but I expect it By Christmas. My first solve was February 2009, but I just solved it intuitively by block-building and that jazz. I then got a lot more interested in May 2009, I got my first real Rubik's cube (the other was a cheap pattern cube), and I Learned LBL. I stayed with LBL until July then I decided I would just go ahead and figure out the F2L jazz. I got the hang of it with F2L at about 40 seconds by August. Then I learned My PLL and 2-look OLL.

I then got really pessimistic because I thought after about a week of practice I would be Sub-30. I then got back into cubing a week or 2 later and Practiced like 3-5 hours a day (it's sad isn't it???). My PB Average of 5 is now like 26 seconds and my PB Single Non - Lucky is 22.xx.

I'm assuming if you practice 1 hour a day and use good algorithms you can get it in about 6 months.

I don't think that's a lot. That's just enough.

That's not a lot???
Seems an awful lot to me....then again, I don't cube much anymore.

Took me...maybe 9 months or so.
Although after 9 more months, I'm still stuck at sub-17/16.

lol you kept track of the EXACT time? that's either extremely awesome, or extremely fail... I'll go with awesome. lol. But yeah I've been cubing for a little over a year and I'm not even consistently sub-30 :'( lol

Haha, yea, I kept the exact time that I started Roux and the exact time that I got a sub-20 average of 12. I don't know the exact time that I got a sub-20 single though.
