How long did it take for you to get sub 20 seconds?

I've been cubing on and off for about 5 years now. I'd say you can get from sub-30 to sub-20 in a few weeks if you really know what you need to work on.

I understand by saying keep on practicing it is a little generic, but it really is the only way to get faster.

Tricky question... my first sub-20 average of 5 was about 14 years after my first solve, 2 years after I decided to start speedsolving, and about a year after I started putting in serious practice. My sub 20 mean of 100 was about seven months after the average of 5.

Well, my average is yet about 31 seconds, and my method is as follows-
1. Beginner's cross
2. First Layer
3. Second layer
4. Two look OLL
5. Two look PLL
But I've started with F2L but it slows me down a LOT!!!
And I've also started learning some PLLs too, but I learned the Whole method in about 1 to 2 months...

You should learn F2L. Your times will worsen, but once you get used to it you'll be faster.
After a while, there's only so fast you can actually go with an lbl method

About 1 year after I learned how to solve a cube, but when I started speedsolving it seriously and started doing timed solves, so about 10 months. I know full PLL, 31/57 OLL's and doing cross on left most of the time.

From my first solve, around 9 months. But when I started speedcubing and taking this seriously, more like 4.

Kinda fast I guess, but I don't do too many events (I can solve every event that doesn't include BLD and Clock), but I only practice 2-4, OH, Pyra, Skewb, and Square 1 and I practice 3x3 the most :P

Years and years (6-7 years, I don't remember exactly...) to reach sub-30,
and then less than a year to reach sub-20. That happened at early 2013.
After that, I became sub-15 I think around mid-2014,
got sub-14 in 2015,
and now, at early 2016, I'm sub-12.5 :)

So I almost halved my times in 3 years... And yes, I've been cubing since almost a decade and I'm still not sub-10 D:
