How long could I expect a cube to last if it's always kept lubed?

I know cubes wear out when they're not lubed.

But what about if you make sure they're always lubed, will they still eventually wear out? And if so, how long could I expect a cube to last if I take good care of it?

I have found that cubes tend to get better with age, as in looser. Depending on the brand, some may become more prone to pops. Also, what do you mean by " always lubed" ? Are you spraying silicone monthly, weekly? Are you lubing with petroleum jelly, etcetera?

I've never used lube before, but I was thinking of spraying it with lube everytime the cube dries up from when it was last lubed.

Lubing your cube isn't going to make the cube dissolve in your hands if that's what you mean.

I can't imagine any of my cubes without lube.

Well, if you lube with silicone( which is the most common practice among speed cubers) , then you'll be fine. Like anything, so long as you keep your cube in good condition ( not dropping it onto the concrete or throwing it against pillars), cubes will last a long time, lubed or not.

My old blue type F is as good as new. had it for over a year (There was a point where it felt degraded but I brought it back)

I would say it takes about 3 months before the cube is not very speed worthy, but you will never destroy your cube unless your stupid.

You shouldn't even be using your cube when it's still wet from the lube. It's not the liquid that is making your cube smooth, it's the dried up silicone layer.

When you see a bunch of dust in your cube, that's a hint that your lubricant is coming off.

If you lube your cube every time it dries up you will probably destroy it within the first hour.
