How I should continue?

hopefully sub 2 BLD wont be a massive problem for cyber:)
its very interesting watching cybers meticulously tracked progress.
i know that i did similarly, and reached the fuzzy line between 19-22 pretty quickly...
its only very recently (i.e post uk 08) that ive been able to pull out 15-16s with no problem, i only just got a completely non lucky 13.38 last night.

anyway...
perhaps you should consider using freestyle? i realise its a lot of effort but as far as im aware its what most sub1:30 people use.
note 'as far as im aware' ;)

There are plenty of people who don't use freestyle who are sub-1:30. Probably even most of them. It's just the people who are sub-1 who are mostly freestyle. So I always figured I shouldn't have to go to freestyle to get where I want to get.

But maybe since I'm so slow, I'll need to go to freestyle to overcome my speed handicap. Or maybe BH. (I think that's what's stopping me from trying freestyle; I figure if I'm going to go to that much trouble, I might as well go all the way to BH. Also, I've been able to mirror a lot of Chris Hardwick's progress on BLD in that what has worked for him has worked for me; he's gotten to sub-1:30 with commutators/BH, so maybe that's the way I should go too.)

and do notice that i say ideally... the ideal solve being sub 2 for cyber right now:)
2min!? Did I say that? I was wondering sub 3min in my first BLD message.
Anyway, that would be great but I have only 11days left!!!
Sub 2 min will be really hard goal!("mission impossible"):(
It may be possible only with really great help and hard work!;)
And yeah, I guess if cyber is going for sub-2, sub-1 execution should be possible. And as fast as he's gotten now (he was the same speed as me on 3x3x3 just a couple of weeks ago, now he's 5 seconds faster than me!?! - amazing!), he'll probably get to sub-1 execution for BLD before I do. :)

This all makes me so happy again! All I want is continue!:)

I want this kind of averages soon...

I am not going to use freestyle for while. Still it is not my thing!;)

Ps. Tomorrow I will train only my execution! In the night it will be sub 4min!

Pps. Can any1 help me with parity? It is the hardest thing!
Everytime I got parity it takes me 1min more to execute!

That was fast! Thank you!:)

Im using only 3OP but I know also some other methods.

All of the 3OP ways for handling parity that I know of are at least a little ugly.

When I used 3OP, I would solve down to the last 2 edges and last 2 corners, then put the corners on top and do a T-perm, and then do either a 3-cycle or 2 2-cycle algorithm to fix the edges that were left over. It's a little inefficient, but doesn't require much thinking. The worst part is figuring out the setup moves for the edge cycle algorithm at the end, and even that's not too bad because at least 2 of the edges are always on top.

Other people try to do setup moves to get both corners and both edges to the top, and then do a PLL to fix them, whichever one is needed. For me, that required too much thinking, which is why I went the other route.

Either way, it should take substantially less than a minute. Usually it meant 15-20 seconds for me.

Parity is easier with M2.

nah you only said 3 min Cyber... but i know that eventually you will surpass this, whether in the next 11 days or 11 weeks. you are exceptionally driven to learn, so i dont think that sub 2 is out of your reach at all.
p.s get a diy (im going to add this to the end of every post addressed to you from now until you get one ;) )

How it works when you are using M2 and can I read it somewhere?

Today I did one more execution eyes open and I got 3.40min!
It takes much longer when I am scared of mistakes!
I really need to push up boundaries while I am doing 5-6min memo,
that way my execution sucks and I need to use several minutes thinking the visual look!
Normally I have 7-8min memo and I got no DNFs!

Here is my 12 weeks progress once again!
Rubiks cube started 20.8.2008 17:30
1 week record 74sec Average 83sec
2 weeks record 58sec Average 65sec
3 weeks record 46sec Average 58sec
4 weeks record 43sec Average 54sec
5 weeks record 30sec Average 37sec
6 weeks record 22.30 Average 32.63
7 weeks record 22.30 Average 29.31
8 weeks record 21.24 Average 27.64
9 weeks record 19.81 Average 26.31
10 weeks record 19.81 Average 25.25
11 weeks record 17.50 Average 22.91
12 weeks record 13.80 Average 22.02

Ps. DIY cubes are coming! Types A, C, and D!

yay DIYs!!
was the 13.80 non lucky?
before you build the DIYs properly, mess around with hybrids etc. (d pieces, a core seems to be the most popular)
also, im sure you've read this, but dae_ja_voo has a good mini article around on what to do if your type (d) has screws that unscrew themselves.

For M2, what I do is to solve the last edge piece, then execute M' F2 M' F2. This leaves just 2 edge pieces left to solve - UF and UB. Then I get the corners set up to the top if they're not already there (generally requires no more than 2 setup moves, since the edges are already at UF and UB and the corners are oriented), and then do a PLL to solve. Usually T perm. Very simple and always works. The only thinking required is how to set up the corners, and that's really easy too.

I think parity now typically takes me 5 to 10 seconds. And that's only because I'm slow. A fast person is probably more like 2 to 3 seconds.

Yeah Escher, it was non lucky 13.80!
No easy F2L pairs, the easiest OLL and kind of easy PLL!
That was just a no-stop solve!
I didn´t tape it. Harmful!
I will play with hybrids. Also C and D hybrid;)
I will be so happy after I get those! I think so...
Is there way to get fast memo in no time?

Then u need to practice look-a-head more to get sub 15sec as the 13s solve!
For faster memo times...U need to practice it a lot and make sure that your memo method is fast enought!
Visual look is the hardest for fast memo!

no, thats wrong.

visual is by far the fastest memo method.
however, it is the hardest to get good at if you are not naturally talented at it.
roman rooms (loci) or some other story/numbers method can be 'fast' if you get good at it, but it definitely is limited, compared to visual, which can give ville seppanen style memo.
i would definitely suggest starting training visual NOW. you might make more mistakes right now, but once you get good you can easily get sub minute memo, and once you get very good (or amazing) you can get sub 30 - sub 10.

i realise you might have meant this, but it wasnt very clear, and i wanted to make sure that you knew :)

So I should stick with visual look?

After this night I will be somewhere else for 3days!
I will be training blind solving only!
I will be back on monday and hoping that I am around 6min BLD solve!
Me and my friends are going to have some kind of disturbing test on monday! <3

Today my BLD solve execution time went down some 2mins,
and I did a new average 10/12 record 21.28sec!

With regards to 3OP edges and corners, what I often do when I get to the end is convert 2 piece swaps to the top face by using 3 cycles. For example, if I have a swap like (1 7) I would perform (1 7 3) to convert it to (1 3). If I do this for edges and for corners, I can arrange the swaps into a T-perm or whatever I feel comfortable with. That way I don't waste time trying to figure out complicated setup/setdown moves that keep orientations intact. (PS: myspace.com/rjohnson8ball now shows a log of my 43 successful BLD solves and how I did each. Note that my piece numbering system differs from Macky's.)

That was a good hint! I think I will use it in future!

Ps. I checked your profile and you looks like a pro biljard player!;)

Cyber: I'll go to Customs today and send cubes monday to you. (I'm spending weekend at cottage :) )

First thing on Monday: visiting at post office

That´s true!:D

U and Eraggo ordered together???
