How hard is it to learn how to solve 4x4x4 and 5x5x5?

The concept of what ? When I got my first 4^3 (when I was 11 years old) I had no clue about such a weird concept. And I still managed to solve it. :p

all of the 4x4x4 can be done intuitive except parity algs. You just need to have the concept of reduction.
People really should stop saying this. TMOY (uses his own system) and me (using reduction) have both found entirely different methods of solving bigcubes that both don't involve reduction

i realy dont think a 4x4 is thát hard... 2 weeks ago,, i started staring at is(A)
then lst monday,, my friend helped me out.. but he showed me how way to fast...

then i tried it on my own,, and voila...
:D
3 minutes:P

jeah ok... parity.. hate that.. but... well nvm

I don no how to see which is harder to learn...but I learned 3x3 in 5 hours..learn 4x4 is 2 hours..and learned 5x5 in 40 minutes... =.=" so if count by amount of time spent..then 3x3 is hardest for me... lol

btw I learned 4x4 1 week after I learned my 3x3 and 5x5 1 week after I learned 4x4..

I started with 4 algs for 4x4x4, the two parity types and two for edge reduction
Then I lost the edge reduction algs and now I do it intuitive

for 5x5x5 I haven't learned anything at all

it is not hard to solve the big cubes first you make the centers then the edges and to learn the parity alg. then you can solve every cube 100x100x100 :)

(sigh)
Did yo guys even bother to read what has been posted earlier in this thread ? Or is it too hard for you to understand ?

I think that a lot of people say 5x5 is so easy is because if you already know how to solve the 3x3 and the 4x4, you obviously have a good grasp on cubing, so you will be able to pick up the 5x5 without a lot of stumbling. The cubes pretty much build on each other, so it is a gradual process that gets less challenging.

If 3x3 is 3, then (for me), I cannot get the hang of Yau, so using Redux. Not a fun experience for me, since i don't do big cube much, but anyway... learning 4x4 is probably 1+1(1 is for the parity alg that I cannot get the hang of either)
