Maybe I can help you, or atleast help some people. I, myself also sometimes have a hard time learning a certain algorithm. I have a little "trick" that maybe can help you.

First of all, I would like to say that repeating the algorithm again, and again eventually will get your mind to remember it, but I think that takes too long!
So my method is basicly this - You divide the algorithm up into parts, and in each little part you learn it, and see what it does (it's function, and which pieces it moves etc.)
and then combine them all into a single algorithm.

So let's take the Ra-Perm as an example. This is one I actually had a bit of trouble with, believe it or not.
By dividing it into parts, it was easier for me to remember.
This is how I divided it:

[R U' R' U' (R U R) D] [R' U' R D'] [R' U2 R' U']

Take a closer look into that dividing. I have found out that if you divide the algorithm where there is a D, it is much easier for me atleast to remember! When I divide after a D, I will know that when I do the D, the part is over. Simple as that!
The same goes with simple moves. If there was an R U R' U' , try to put ( ) on as usual. It helps alot when learning!

Hope this helps some of you newcomers like me, which are struggling (:

.... I don't quite see the point of this thread......

It is highly recommended that you do not make new threads for purposes such as this. Please use the search bar first. Topics related to algorithm memorization are probably abundant at this point in time. Another one is likely unneeded.

But in any case, if you really want to memorize algorithms faster, the first thing you should do is figure out how to finger trick the algorithm, and then instead of doing the algorithm over and over on the cube, do the algorithm in your head using your imagination, and really try to feel out all the moves you're performing on the imaginary cube. That will do you more good.

If you're trying to memorize letters, then it's no wonder you can't memorize your algorithms very fast. It's not very efficient to memorize a bunch of letters.

I tried to take a search before posting this, but it didn't seemed that there was any threads about easier algorithm memorization. That's why I posted it (-: I'm getting a hang on it that way atleast. It can be deleted if needed.

Oh, don't worry, there's definitely at least one thread on alg memo.... I don't remember which one it is, but I know there is at least one.

EDIT: But it's quite alright. People make mistakes. Plus, it was hard for you to find, which is totally understandable. I've done that before, too, more than once, I think. :)

There are many threads about algorithms memorization. Most of them are people asking how to memorize them and other people answering them. But thread is still useful,. just not enough to be stickied in which this case I doubt he wants a sticky on this.
