This is specifically regarding U R U' R' U' F' U F and the version for the left side.

I am having trouble finding a good method of moving my fingers for this method. Generally, I have trouble shifting between U' R' and U' F'. I end up really using mostly my hands in an awkward manner instead of using my fingers efficiently.

Does anybody have any example (video, clear directions, etcetera) of how this can be done quickly and "correctly"?

Thanks in advance. :D

for the U'R'U'F' i just sort of wrist the R'. This puts my thumb in a good position to do the F'.

Noob question, what do you mean by wristing it?
I'll probably figure out what it means right after I post it, lol.

Instead of just flipping it with a finger, i grab it with my hand. My fingers on the back, and my thumb on the front, and i turn my wrist to turn the side.

If I did it that way, I would use my thumb for F', but I actually do it more like:

-U R U' l' U R' U' l

You could try a different algorithm too, like:

-y' R U R U R U' R' U' R'

For the other side, I do use a different algorithm thats similar to the one above:

-R' U' R' U' R' U R U R

Edited: first alg was wrong.

This is how most people actually execute it:

( U R U' R' ) y' ( U' L' U L )

Now that I look at how I'm doing it, I don't use the Fs. I pretty much do it the way you've notated. But something about my hands makes that very slow.
But isn't that wrong? Shouldn't it be ( U R U' R' ) y' ( U' R' U R )?

Did you try this: U R U' l' U R' U' l

No, I believe that's right. If you turn the actual cube, the F side will now be the L.
What's the l'? That's not an L, is it? *n00b*

l'/l are wide L turns, it's like turning the middle layer along with L. And a y' is turning the cube counterclockwise, so the F would end up on the R side.
So its either (U R U' R') y (U' L' U L) or (U R U' R') y' (U' R' U R) but not (U R U' R') y' (U' L' U L)

Yep...good catch: It's supposed to be:

( U R U' R' ) y ( U' L' U L )

Or your version, which keeps it feeling like a 2-gen...I like it.

If I absolutely had to U' F' U F, I'd use my left forefinger for the U, then right thumb for the F' and right forefinger for the rest (inefficient, yes).

Mostly, I'd just y' R U R U R U' R' U' R'.
