I don't have one yet, but would like to get one soon.

So to those who have one - how is the pyraminx constructed? Does it operate like a cube in it's turning style?

I would think so, but I've watched a few videos and it seems to make similar sounds as the Rubik's Magic. As if it's strung together.

I did a forum-search before posting but didn't find anything specifically describing this. So thanks for your help.

I think they've spring loaded ball bearings as notches (I have one, just haven't pulled it a part).

Fairly well constructed. IMO they don't turn as fast as a Rubik's Cube because of the notches...

It's easier to solve than a 2x2x2 IMO

Tim.

It's exactly like a Rubik's except for the spindle and the pieces(of course).
The spindle has 4 arms each 120 degrees from each other while the cube has 6 arms 90 degrees from each other. The pyraminx has ball bearings between every edge so you can't jam unless the inner corners of the edges collide. It also has 4 trivial tips that don't really matter. The tips have screws that are screwed directly into the core which is just a plastic ball.
