Hi so this is just my welcome post. I got into cubing when I girl from my chemistry class said I'd be good at the rubiks cube because it involves remembering lots of algorithms. That year I got a rubiks cube for Christmas and I kind of played with it and then put it away. About a week ago I took it back out from the drawer and learnt to solve it with the beginners method after ordering a magic trick using a rubiks cube (I dabble in card magic). I haven't taken a deck out in the last week and since my speed cube arrived yesterday I can't see myself practicing any magic any time soon.
It's also nice to have a relatively inexpensive hobby when you are a student!
