[Member Intro] Hi from Alabama!

I have an Idea for another method of F2L. Maybe we could also intuitively solve f2l with the cross, to save look ahead time, and possibilities of messing it up?

Despite what you might think, this would actually make look ahead drastically worse. The problem is you then have to look at the D edges while doing F2L which would slow you down by a lot. Not a bad though though!

Do you have any tips on practicing look ahead ?

Stop timing your self for a while, and turn very slowly. Slow enough that you don't have pauses. Also, while you're doing that you should try to be as efficient as possible. Don't be afraid to try new things. If it doesn't work out, then that's fine.
Thanks, I am learning

any Ideas on a bpm to start on? I mean for a metronome to help me move in time... I know and use most of oll and full pll so it is hard to go very slow on ll but I learned f2l intuitively rather than algorithmically, so I can slow that down. I have decent case recognition for ll... or maybe I should just turn slower? also, thank you biscuit. my solves feel more precise now.

Thanks, and do I count full cube rotations and regrips as a move? I find that with my cubing style, I do regrips and cube rotations as a part of my algorithms for f2l a lot to avoid back rotations, but with a regrips or a cube rotation it is hard to do it on beat...

Mmm I personally don't as it's harder to keep track of you missed something. As well looking away won't help look ahead as you're not looking at anything. Actually try to see the next step and not have any pauses (hence why you'd use a metronome).

okay, tips for anyone reading this and cannot get the metronome strat to work.
just slow down your solves a bit. not too much, just enough fr you to watch the results of your algs. my lookahead / pairfinding is improving a lot from this.
