started solving not too long ago . the first time it took me around a whole night but now my fastest is about 1:10 but im sure that was a very lucky one i usually time around 1:35 :) oh btw i wanted to know which 3x3 cube is best i have the original but i've read that there are better ones:)

hii Dana, from kuwait:)

i've read that there are better ones:)

This is an enormous understatement. If you want to get faster you'll want a speedcube which requires very little effort to turn. Most people use Dayan speedcubes, the most popular being the Zhanchi and the Guhong.

You'll probably also want to start using a speedsolving method (sorry if you already are) like CFOP, ZZ, Roux or Petrus if you want to be faster than 40 seconds with not a lot of practice.

Also, welcome! Make sure you poke around in the wiki to learn stuff and post in the One Answer Question Thread if you're wondering something.

What? Not Dayan Guhong v2?

Haha. Ya I am slight(or big) Guhong v2 fanboy, huh? Once they are sub-minute then of course getting a guhong v2. I reccomended the GhostHand I because I went staight from a Rubik's brand to a Guhong v1 and it helped and messed me up. I do reccomend switching to something other than Rubik's Brand though. As long as it is something other than a RB that can be tightened you're fine.

If I were you I would stick with a store-bought until you average around 30 seconds and the I would get a Guhong v2. But that's just my opinion and what I did.

Just get the best speed cube you can right away.

The faster you get, the more you rely on things you can do subconsciously. One of those things is your hand movement. Don't waste your time learning to deal with the flaws of a bad cube when you could be learning to control the advantages of a better one.

As far as which cube to get, in my experience the Zhanchi, Guhong v1/v2, and Lingyun v2 are all equal in performance but different in feel. I prefer the feel of the Guhong v2, but you can't go wrong with any of those. Search this forum for lubricant and modding discussions. Look into Z stickers (51morefun.com), MODstickers (thecubicle.us), and Cube Smith (cubesmith.com) for better colors than the stock ones. If you want to purchase your cube, lube, and stickers all at once with free shipping over a certain amounts (depends where you are), thecubicle.us is a good choice.

What do you mean the Guhong v1 messed you up? Because I went straight from Rubik's brand to Guhong v1 and I don't think I'm messed up. :p
