i was using LBL for about 3 months and i had my avg. under a minute, (about 51.00) then i started learning fridrich,
the f2l is pretty easy i just still cant do it very fast. but the rest of it, i know the algorithms for OLL, but the PLL algs im still memorizing. but when i try to speedsolve, i cant get a good time, usually barely under a minute.
what am i doing wrong??
--------------------------------------
best 3x3 time - 39.32 (lucky)
best unlucky 3x3 time - 43.45
3x3 avg. - 50.76
4x4 best time - 8.13.57
4x4 avg - 9.53.32

You're not doing anything wrong. When you first try Fridrich, or a new method, you will have slowdowns in the beginning. Don't get discouraged. Just keep working at it. Soon the steps will seem natural and you'll get faster. You can't expect to be fast just by learning a new method. It still takes time and practice. I know a few people who quit Fridrich just cause it wasn't giving them the kind of times they get with LBL. You'll get faster, just practice.

yeah i keep trying anyway.
just waiting to get faster.

wishing for a competition anywhere within 30 miles of here....

you know all the Olls? WOW thats good.

Also When youi learn a new method your gunna be slower then lbl.

When i did i got 1 min 40's using frid

now im at 50 sec and lowering.

Thank you for your advice! I'm also learning Fridrich method.:D

When I switched to Petrus from LBL my times took about two months to start going down, and I didn't hit sub 60 for another 3 months. I'm averaging 35-45 seconds right now (still using Petrus), and I hope my new cube will help bring that down. I'm not blaming my current cube or anything, but I used it to experiment with a lot of lubes (some weren't very nice to it) and I've had a lot of accidents with it. In result, it locks quite a bit (I'm sure a lot of that is me cutting too many corners though).

Well you are learning the metod correclty but you might want to try and look ahead while inserting an F2L piece, Not only that you should try learning fingertricks as well. But I have to say congratulations on learning all of the OLL cases!, I only know half of them and all of the PLL's but I average around 23 seconds. Good luck!
