So I have a Rubik’s brand cube from about 4 years ago, and I tried to use my finger (plus water) to wipe out some of the plastic dust on the inside. But now my cube sounds really sandy and some turns are bumpy. Did I mess up my cube, and is there anything I can do to make my cube turn better?
Edit: never mind, it just needed to set. Now it turns better (still horrible).

Not trolling, apart from marketing purposes what would the difference be between a regular 3x3x3 and a speedcube?

Handing over my well worn, taken care of and regularly cleaned Rubik's Cube to a competitive solver made me realise the adage.... it is the cuber and not (necessarily) the cube...
